About
I
made a left to right brain switch from science to visual art a few years back. As
a postdoctoral researcher, I spent my weekends and evenings in the lab. At one point I was so burnt out that I reconsidered my options and
made the decision to ditch the lab coat and got myself a job in an environment
that prioritises work life balance.
With that extra time, I rediscovered my love for sketching and art.
My years
of scientific training have taught me to be observant and developed my attention
to details. When I first approach a subject, I take in all that I can see and
ink all the details on paper.
I also enjoy playing with watercolours, like putting one colour beside another and allowing them to bleed into each other to create something that is totally unexpected.
Every art work that I made is an experiment to find the right balance between colours and details so that they blend harmoniously and do not overwhelm each other.
