INKtober: Day 24, 25 and 26 of 31
Day 24: I sketched this 1950 styled shophouse on site at the other end of Club Street with the Pilot Hi-tecpoint V5 pen. This pen was my pen of choice in secondary school. It writes smoothly and ink flows very well. Ink is slightly water soluble, producing a warm gray when washed. It is more water resistant than the Pilot Vpen M that I reviewed on Day 21. 3/5
Day 25: My "SKETCHFIRSTEATLATER"sketch. I had breakfast with a fellow sketcher at a bakery before our official monthly sketchwalk and decided to sketch my meal with the Lamy Joy (1.5mm broad nib). It's a calligraphy pen that I bought in Austria (don't ask me why I went all the way there to buy it). It's not easy to sketch with this pen. This pen is not as juicy as the Pilot parallel pen. You will have to press whole nib down to make a fine line, For the Pilot, you can do the same with just the corner of the nib, It still has the default blue Lamy ink cartridge that came with the package. NOT water resistant but dilutes into a beautiful sky blue with water. 3/5
Day 26: I drew from a picture of Paris rooftop. I love rooftops cos there are always lots of interesting details and plenty of lines to draw. Tool of the day is the Artline technical pen 0.05. The super fine tip means I can do details. The pen make consistent lines of same thickness. Ink is near 100% water resistant. Good for watercolour washes. Recommended for newbies. 4/5
