INKtober: Day 27, 28 and 29 of 31
Another post for drawings done over a few days.
Day 27: Another monotone portrait, this time drawn with the Uni Jetstream 0.7 pen in red. This pen has received raves as one of the best ballpoint pens around. Indeed, it is the smoothest I have ever used. However it left blobs of ink when I let the pen rest on the paper. Again, I recommend ballpoint pens for writing. Not sketching. 2.5/5 (sketching) and 5/5 (writing)
Day 28: My recent preference for street scenes. I was inspired by a rainy day on the streets of New York. Tool of the day is the Pentel brush pen. This pen is a staple for many comic artists and illustrators. It takes a lot of skill to tame this pen. When controlled well, the lines can be fine and expressive. As you can see, I still need a lot of practice. This pen is best left to the experts. I mainly use it quickly fill up dark portions of sketches. 3/5
Day 29: Another street scene. In Kyoto.I am using the Pilot G-TEC.C maica 0.4 pen in indigo. I love the colour of the ink and have been using this pen in the office daily. The pen is juicy. The dark blue ink is not water resistant and becomes a bright cobalt blue with a light wash. 4/5
