Commissioning the Singapore Skyline

I love aerial views. When I travel I look out for the tallest climbable tower/ building/ hill and make my way up so that I can admire the city from the top. Since I travel sketch, it would also mean that I have amassed several of such sketches from various countries (see  http://eurekawanders.blogspot.sg/p/gallery.html for the ones for Prague).

For the longest time,  I have wanted to do a Singapore skyline. It just didn't happen. Until a friend decided to commission me to paint one for his living room. This is the largest painting I have done so far. 50cm x 23cm. And the longest I have taken to finish. 7 months...

This painting made me jittery. I worried about many things: the composition, if  there are enough details or if I would overload it with colours and killed it in the end. I think it turned out good. Hope he and his family will like it!
