Asialink Bangkok sketchwalk 24-27 Nov 2016- Day 2
Day 2
We learnt from participants who were staying at designated hostel that there were food stalls behind the RCAC. Even though we had the sumptuous hotel breakfast we couldn't help it but checked that place out for our second breakfast. I had noodle soup and it was really good!
Our sketch leader brought us to the tiger god temple and liberty square. I didn't want to walk so I sketched the tiger god temple from the opposite pedestrian.
For lunch we had roasted duck and Wanton Mee. Again I thought the seasoning was too sweet. A Thai sketcher offered granulated sugar for the noodles which I politely declined.

Our next sketching location was the giant swing which was close by. The Giant Swing is a religious structure, formerly used in an old Brahmin ceremony. In the ceremony Brahmins would swing, trying to grab a bag of coins placed on one of the pillars. Wiki says they stopped the ceremony after several fatal accidents(!)
It started pouring when I finished my sketch. We went for toast at the famous Mont Nom Sod, a café that specialised in toasts and milk. Look at the fluffy toast cubes and kaya.

The rain did not relent after two cups of coffee and a second helping of toast so we entertained ourselves with a little rain dance.
